If you haven’t looked at the calendar lately, you might not be aware that May begins this week. The beginning of May also means that the Federal Home Buying tax credits expire.
Technically, it’s still not too late to buy a home and take advantage of this government provided cash, but if you haven’t started yet, it will require some serious work. You’ll have to find a house you like, and get a solid offer under contract by Friday at midnight. If you’re looking for houses for sale in the Logan area, which you probably are because you’re reading this blog post, then here’s what you have to choose from right now:
Cache County currently has 820 residential homes for sale. The most ever for this time of year. 43 of these listings are priced less than $100,000. The largest clump of Logan homes for sale are properties priced between $180,000- $200,00, there is also a nearly 100 homes for sale priced between $140,000 and $160,000. Here is a break down of the number of homes for sale, in each $20,000 price range.
If it’s not possible to buy a home this week, that doesn’t mean there still aren’t good deals out there, there still are, and likely will be for a while. If you’re not in a rush to buy, you’re likely better off waiting for a house you like, than buying something you don’t like just so you can get some tax credit money.
